The One Thing You Should Be Focusing On
Today I was driving with my daughter in the car, annoyingly to my better half and I she has begun the game of "are we there yet".
Time and time again we do our best to explain to her that it is not just the destination she should enjoy but also and more importantly the journey.
It is the journey on the way to our destination that is filled with the most adventure, it is where all of the memories we hold dear come from.
I have found this ring true through out my life many times over.
For me my greatest memory is the journey to becoming a SOF operator, not the day to day of being one.
As much as I explain this theory to my daughter, I have to do the same to the young men and women in the Warfighter Athletic community.
Filled with enthusiasm and excitement they are focused on the end result.
The becoming of a Navy SEAL, Ranger, PJ, TACP, SAS operator, Commando, Sniper, Recon Operator.
All of the focus and energy is placed on the end result and none on the path that leads there.
If all of your energy and focus is placed on the end result, where will you get the energy from that is required to get you there?
As the hard work begins, shifting your energy from the end result to the work in front of you, the vision of the end result can begin to fade.
Dulling your flame, the work doesn't seem worth it and why?
Because your vision never involved working, bleeding and sweating for it.
This is why I created the UTWW program for our athletes.
Yes I want you to know your end destination and why deep down in your soul why you want to go there.
But the majority of the work is the battle tracking task list, which is the creating of the path on exactly how you're going to get there.
The key takeaway from this short story is that you need to focus on the path that will get you to your final destination more than the destination itself.
Do this and I guarantee you you're going to see results faster than you ever have before.
The path there is a beautiful journey, you will suffer, you will face ups and downs but you will learn so much.
You will learn that you are capable of so much more than you think you are.
You will learn that no matter how hard it gets if you just keep going you will get there eventually.
You will learn that suffering for something is better than doing nothing.
If you're stuck on how you're going to get there or if you don't even know where you want to go, do not worry.
I have been working hard putting together a course that's going to give you the tools and framework required to get you from where you are now to where you want to be.
It includes both the physical and mental sides of preparing for success in the military or out in the civilian sector.
The good news is this course is now avaliable and has already been having a massive impact on our members.
