This week we are working on expedition fitness, when it comes to true functional military fitness the ability to cover distance regardless of terrain reigns supreme.
RUCK / PACK MARCH
Distance: 8km / 5miles
Weight: 20-25kg Pack/Ruck walk over mixed terrain
Intensity: 180bpm minus your age. Stay within 10bpm of max HR eg. 180-30(age) = 150(max heart rate) 140-160(within the 10bpm variation)
EMBRACE THE RUCK!
until your actually measuring your HR or even time you forget how much rucking sucks. Its easy to fall into a comfy pace when you ruck, which defeats the whole point.
